Jentrix Shikangwa delivered a sensational performance, netting a hat trick as Simba Queens secured a thrilling 4-2 comeback victory over Fountain Gate Princess in a Tanzanian Women’s Premier League match played yesterday.
Fountain Gate Princess took an early lead, with Amina Ramadhani opening the scoring in the 10th minute. Six minutes later, Mariam Elia doubled their advantage, shocking the defending champions. However, Simba Queens responded swiftly, with Shikangwa scoring twice in quick succession in the 25th and 29th minutes to level the score before halftime.

The second half saw Simba Queens take control, as another Kenyan international, Vivian Corazon Aquino, struck in the 59th minute to put her team ahead for the first time in the match. Shikangwa then completed her hat trick in the 79th minute, sealing the victory for Simba Queens.

This marks her second consecutive hat trick, having netted four goals in Simba Queens’ dominant 11-0 win over Mlandizi Queens last Wednesday. The prolific striker has now scored 16 goals in 10 league matches, firmly establishing herself as the league’s top scorer.
Several other Kenyan players featured in the match. Wincate Kaari, Ruth Ingosi, and Elizabeth Wambui played crucial roles for Simba Queens, while Monicah Chebet Odato and Winnie Gwatenda lined up for Fountain Gate Princess.
With the victory, Simba Queens remain unbeaten at the top of the league table with 31 points, strengthening their bid for yet another league title.
