Mombasa, Kenya – Bandari FC ended their seven-match winless streak with a crucial 1-0 victory over Nairobi City Stars at the KPA Mbaraki Sports Club on Sunday. A first-half goal by Mohamed Beja Nyamawi in the 15th minute, courtesy of an assist from William Wadri, secured the win for the dockers.
Nyamawi’s strike, his seventh goal of the season, proved decisive as Bandari climbed to 7th place on the FKF Premier League table. The victory also marked a season double over “Simba wa Nairobi,” with the reverse fixture earlier in the season ending by the same 1-0 scoreline.

Despite their precarious position in the relegation zone, Nairobi City Stars fought valiantly throughout the match in search of an equalizer. However, Bandari’s solid defensive display ensured the visitors left Mombasa empty-handed. City Stars have now extended their winless run to six matches since their last triumph over Murang’a SEAL on December 7, 2024. During this period, they have managed only three draws and three losses, leaving them in 16th place with just 17 points.
For Bandari, the win offers a much-needed morale boost as they aim to regain momentum in the league. On the other hand, City Stars face increasing pressure to turn their fortunes around as they battle to escape the relegation zone.
