Uganda Teen Cranes head coach Sheryl Botes has unveiled a provisional squad of 32 players ahead of their crucial FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup 2025 second qualifying round fixture against Kenya. The first leg is set to take place on March 8 at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo, with the return leg scheduled for March 16 in Kenya.
Kenya, having participated in the last edition of the U17 Women’s World Cup in the Dominican Republic, was given a bye in the first round. Meanwhile, Uganda stormed into the second round with an emphatic 18-1 aggregate victory over Namibia.
The ultimate goal for both teams is to secure a place in the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup, which will be held in Morocco from October 17 to November 8, 2025.

The Ugandan team will enter a residential training camp at Cranes Paradise Hotel on Monday, February 24, 2025, as they intensify preparations for the tie against Kenya.
Kenya’s Preparations Underway
Kenya named a provisional squad of 51 players on February 10, 2025, with the Junior Starlets already in camp. As part of their preparations, they played two friendly matches, registering a dominant 5-0 victory over Mathare United Women and a hard-fought 5-3 win against Zetech Sparks on February 18, 2025.
With both teams aiming for a spot in the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup, the upcoming clashes are expected to be fiercely contested as regional rivals battle for qualification.
